Exit Ten - Norwich Waterfront - 21st February 2013

Now we have another live review, and even though I was at this gig, I've decided to let my friend Dave write the review as he wanted to give it a shot, so here it is, his review of one of our favourite bands, Reading metalcore geniuses Exit Ten!

Cannabis Corpse + Ghoul - London Underworld - 9th February 2013

Hello again everyone, and welcome to my first live review of 2013. Despite this not being my first gig of the year I decided that this would be my first gig to review, due to me only knowing half the setlist for Korpiklaani, and the fact that I was too fucked at Orange Goblin to even begin to remember the song order. This was definitely the best gig of the year so far though. So let's get to business...

Black Veil Brides - Wretched & Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones (2013)

So after a week and a bit of gigging and procrastinating, I've got a new review for y'all. I know what most of you are thinking, (Black Veil Brides are shit!!!, Andy Biersack can suck a dick etc.) but I felt the need to write this review to prove to you guys that I can write about stuff other than bands I enjoy. I've been feeling recently that I've not been very biased and want to keep my journalistic integrity intact. But at the same time I've not just chosen an album by a so called "controversial" band to slate. I want to be professional and review something out of my comfort zone without just trashing it and essentially saying "it's shite" but using lots of words to do so. And on that note, to business...

2012 In Metal: Best EPs

Here's my final list of favourites from last year, this time E.P. releases. How any of these bands are unsigned is a mystery to me, but these bands are all worth checking out. Enjoy...

2012 In Metal: ParaReviews Best Albums

This has been one of the most interesting and consistently fantastic years for metal in recent memory, and to commemorate the end of the year I thought I would write my best albums lists for 2012. To differentiate and allow for both old and new bands to have their moment I've done lists for "20 best albums" and "10 best début albums" as well as "5 best EP releases". Also, before you mainstream fools/elitists start whining, there's NO Meshuggah, NO Gojira, NO Pig Destroyer and NO Lamb Of God in this list. These are MY opinions, not yours. Those bands all released albums this year that were great but I liked all of the following albums better. Get over it...

And without further ado, to business...
